The Operations Review
A clear picture of how a program, or your whole government, is running, and a practical path to fix what needs fixing.
What we look at
How the program runs day to day
How the money flows
How it lines up with funding agreements and reporting rules
How decisions get made and followed through
Early warning signs, before small problems grow
Choose your scope
Full Operations Review (recommended): your whole government, including all programs, governance and finance. The complete picture and one plan.
Area Review: one program, service or business, such as Health, Housing or Finance. A smaller start that can grow into a full review.
Readiness add-on: how ready you are for self-government, First Nations Financial Management Board (FMB) certification, a financial administration law or an addition to reserve.
Reviewing a development corporation, authority or other Nation-owned organization? The same review works on its own or alongside a Nation review.
How it works
Free conversation. We agree on the scope and who receives the findings.
Discovery. We gather your key records and agreements, in whatever form you keep them, and visit your community to meet your team.
Early look. A short memo on what we see so far and what we still need.
Conversations and findings. A second visit with your team.
Follow-up. A check-in at 90 days to see how the fixes are going.
We use the same plain-language process every time. You’ll always know what we need, what we’re doing and what comes next.
What you receive
Where We Stand: plain findings on how things are running
The Path Forward: a list of fixes, each with an owner and a possible funding route

Every fix comes with an owner and a possible funding route, and you choose whether we build it or your team does.
We recommend. Your Nation decides. Every fix comes with the option to do it yourselves.
Is there funding available for this?
There often is. Part of every review is identifying ways to cover the cost of each fix, from funding you already hold to new opportunities. Any application is made in your Nation’s name.
